Biology 130 - Nutrition & the Human BodyStudies human nutrition and health. Topics include digestion and absorption of nutrients, carbohydrate, fat, protein, vitamin, and mineral requirements, additives, food fads, diets, and world hunger. Same as HOMEC 130 and NUTR 130. Only one of the three (BIOL 130, HOMEC 130, NUTR 130) may be taken for credit. Recommended: BIOL 101. |

Biology& 260 (Formerly Biology 250) - MicrobiologyExplores structure, function, and taxonomy of microbes, including bacteria and viruses, and their relationships to health and disease. Format includes substantial laboratory work and written reporting. Prerequisite: BIOL 101 or BIOL 201 at BCC with a C or better, or entry code. |

Biology 275 - Laboratory Methods in GenomicsThis advanced course introduces the student to the use of laboratory tools and techniques to sequence DNA. Topics covered include DNA structure and gene expression. Emphasis on experimental methods and design. Students learn to think critically about research methodology and scientific investigation. Required Prerequisite: BIOL& 160 (previously BIOL 101) |
